Carine Primary School’s P&F used to struggle to find enough parent volunteers to run its annual fete. With GeckoSports on board, the event finally ran itself — and the P&F President got to actually enjoy the day.

The Challenge

In previous years, Carine Primary School’s P&F found it difficult to find enough parent volunteers to set up and run the school fete. It also meant the parents who did turn up got stuck with the harder logistical tasks instead of being free to enjoy the fun things alongside everyone else.

What We Did

GeckoSports came on board to help run the event itself, taking on the heavier lifting so the P&F committee didn’t have to carry it alone. The team got stuck into everything the P&C had organised too — right down to running the teacher slime dunk — freeing Carine’s volunteers to step back from the logistics and actually take part in the day.

The Result

With GeckoSports running the day, the fete “ran very, very smoothly,” and P&F President Zoe Wallace said she’d “never felt so relaxed” at one of the school’s events. The kids loved it too — GeckoSports let the school offer far more than parent volunteers could manage alone, and each year the P&F has felt more confident to do more, “with the confidence that Gecko has given us.”
